We had issues with leaks from the roof. We called this business for a quote after finding their advertising flyer in our letter box. They came over, gave us a quote, we agreed on the quote and he said he would give us a formal quote listing the jobs to be done, never did. They asked to start the job right away but we said no as we are going overseas. He insisted to start right away and not asking for any money or deposit. We agreed. They started the job, removing tiles from random sections on the roof, then said there were rotten timber underneath and to replace this will now cost us 4 times the original quote, $20K. I told them to stop the work and make the place safe. They did a poor job of covering the open roof sections with tarp. I had to get other people to come and secure the roof, while waiting for the insurance company to send out an assessor. The Insurance assessor could not find any rotten timber, nor did four other tradespeople I call to come for a quote.
I called A Roberts asking them to come over again to show us their findings but they refused. I now have my roof fixed by another company at a fraction of the price. A Roberts sent me text messages a few times asking about the roof and each time gave me a different name. They also called and verbally abused me. The address they listed on the flyer is also a false one, it belongs to a waste treatment business. Please be aware of these people from A Roberts.
